Churches can organize building teams to help us with the various building projects we have going on now, as well as projects we will embark on in the future. Each team needs people skilled in construction, as well as people who want to minister to and work with the children. Men and women are welcome on all work and ministry teams. Each team commits to raising project funds, usually a minimum of $500 per person. These funds are used to purchase building materials that the team will work with when they arrive. At this time, the following projects are active and need both teams and funding:

MINISTRY TEAMS:
Ministry teams comprised of men, women and youth committed to Christ are needed to conduct Vacation Bible Schools in the summer months of July and August. Smaller teams are welcome to come and help with the care of the children at other times throughout the year.

Teachers can assist with teaching the children and youth and Women’s Ministries teams can help with an array of activities, such as sewing school uniforms, painting, gardening and landscaping. Youth teams are also welcome to come and help with ministry in the public schools (passing out the Book of Hope), Vacation Bible School and youth emphasis ministries at the New Vision City of Refuge.

CURRENT PROJECTS FOR CONSTRUCTION TEAMS:

A NEW THREE-STORY 120’X40’ MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING AT THE CITY OF REFUGE: 2007 This building will house four class rooms, several school offices, three multi-room apartments for children and house parents (these three apartments will comfortably house forty children), as well as a dining room/chapel with industrial kitchen, computer room, prayer chapel, clinic and rooms for vocational training. Each floor will be a separate phase.

NEW DIRECTOR’S HOUSE AT NEW VISION CITY OF REFUGE: AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
A separate director’s house is badly needed at the New Vision City of Refuge.

A NEW TWO-STORY 50’X 60’ BUILDING AT THE NEW VISION CITY OF REFUGE: CONSTRUCTION IS ONGOING. This facility is badly needed, as the dining room and boy’s rooms are over crowded in our current facility. The first floor will accommodate a large dining room with enough capacity to seat eighty people, and will house an industrial kitchen big enough to prepare meals for the children and staff. In addition, this new building will have enough rooms to comfortably sleep twenty boys. The second floor will also have a large classroom, offices and rooms for visiting teams and staff.

FUTURE PROJECTS FOR CONSTRUCTION TEAMS:
1. Commercial kitchen
2. Refurbish childrens rooms
3. Secondary energy source, back up generator (in progress)
4. Refuse and recycling
5. Irrigation system for coffee fields
6. Remodel all guest rooms
7. Renovate water supply system
8. New driveway and roads
9. Retaining walls
10. Water tanks and drain fields
11. New workshop and storage facility
